Have you ever had to press the reset button, maybe on a wall outlet, an electronic device….your life? I would not be surprised at all if you said “absolutely”. This time of year, when I have a couple of weeks off from work, I realize I suddenly have all this time to “get things in order”. As I press the reset button, the first bit of my break is spent on rest, then I think about what I need to continue to live life successfully. We all have our own way of pressing the reset button and defining success for our lives. For some, they believe they need more time, more motivation, more organization, more money, new jobs, better health, more sleep or simply more coffee. I have come to realize that at the end of every year for me, I need more God. Plain and simple, I need Him. I firmly believe that if I seek more of Him, I will be successful in every area of my life. God and God’s will are my keys to success.
Did you know that the very same keys apply to every one of us?
Think about all the different words we use to describe who God is. We say things like,
GOD IS MY: Healer, Protector, Provider, Strength, Comforter, Deliverer, Hope, Light, Shield, Creator, Peace, Teacher, Friend, Helper, Counselor and more.
If we believe this is who God is then we must live confidently that he will provide what we need to live each day successfully. Now, let me hit the pause button for a second, there is another important key to success, God’s will. Keep in mind that God’s plan and our plan are not always aligned but do not be discouraged, just remember his plan is ALWAYS better….always. Unpause.
As a daily exercise to remind us that God equals our success, fill in these blanks for your life: IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN MY LIFE TODAY, I NEED _____________________. THE WORD TELLS ME THAT GOD IS MY ____________________. IF IT IS GOD’S WILL FOR MY LIFE, AT THIS TIME, IN THIS PLACE, IT SHALL COME.
Heavenly Father, I pray that as we seek you in every area of our life you will help us to live confidently knowing that you and your will are the only keys we need for a successful life. Thank you father for being absolutely all that we need. In Jesus name. Amen.
