I may have said this before but I grew up in a church with a phenomenal pastor named Charles Nieman. I remember as a child not wanting to go to Sunday school because I would rather sit in the “big church” and watch his cup overflow with love for God and passion for teaching others. My parents and grandparents always sat in the same row and left there saying “wow, he is a good pastor, a great man of God!”
When I was a sophomore in high school we moved hundreds of miles away but over the years, during different events in my life I was able to e-mail Pastor Nieman notes of gratitude and notes seeking godly advice. He has always responded to those e-mails. He always provided the godly advice that I needed even hundreds of miles away. As a child I would say “I really like him!” As an adult, I have also found myself saying “Wow, he is a good pastor, a great man of God!” Our family has been blessed abundantly to know him and to hear his words of wisdom. We are grateful.
Pastor Nieman set an example that made a great impact in my life. Years ago I decided that one day I wanted to be the next Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer or Priscilla Shirer. I read the Rachel Hollis books and started to write the goal in my journal that I would teach girls to live confidently in their walk with Christ and I would spread the message to hundreds. I pray that this blog will be shared in order to help in spreading that message.
Today I was reading the following verse and thinking about the impact we can make in this world.
Daniel 12:3 (NIV) Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
What beautiful imagery to tell us that if we are lead by the Holy Spirit we too can teach and lead others toward a life in Christ. Because we have accepted Christ into our lives the light within us can shine brightly, lighting the path, leading others toward a good and almighty loving God. I encourage you to give thanks and praise, study the Word and spread the love of God to all those you come across. Shine brightly today.
