I wish…

” I wish I was popular.” “I wish I was thinner.””I wish I was pretty.””I wish I was smarter.”

The list above can go on and on, when we get down to the bottom of things it turns out what we really wish for is acceptance. Regardless of who we want to be accepted by, we feel like we have to change ourselves in order to make that happen.  Put simply, at times we have a false idea that if we had something different then people just might feel differently about us.

But read the truth according to what is said in the bible, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 NIV

Reread the verse, do you see the instruction we are given? PRAISE, God wants us to praise him because we are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made. God is perfect, remember? He chose to make us EXACTLY as he wanted us to be. Through praise, we are telling him that we are thankful for who he created us to be. I don’t know about you but I would never want to tell the giver of my life, “Hey! You really messed up here!”God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Accepting ourselves can be a difficult task, sometimes it may even seem impossible but we need to try and remember that the only one we need acceptance from has already given us the stamp of approval!

The next time you find yourself “wishing” say to yourself, I am one of those fearfully and wonderfully made people and I already received my stamp of approval!  If you hear someone else “wishing” be willing to share what you’ve learned.

*Comments challenge* Leave me a comment telling me at least one thing that makes you fearfully and wonderfully made!
